Student Thesis Opportunities
Interested in exploring how the brain works and how technology can interact with it?
At the NeuroEngineering & Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCI) Research Infrastructure of the University of Patras, we offer students from diverse academic backgrounds the opportunity to engage in research and hands-on projects at the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, and computer science.
Our proposed thesis topics cover areas such as brain–computer interfaces, EEG signal processing, machine learning, virtual reality , and human–computer interaction.
Whether you are interested in developing software, analysing brain signals, designing interactive applications, or exploring new ideas in neurotechnology, we encourage you to discover our available topics.

Required Background and Skills
The proposed topics are intended for students interested in programming, signal processing, machine learning, and the development of interactive applications. Basic programming knowledge (MATLAB or Python) is desirable, while the required background may vary depending on the topic. Through these projects, students will have the opportunity to become familiar with brain–computer interfaces (BCIs), the recording and analysis of brain signals (EEG), digital signal processing and, depending on the topic, techniques in machine learning, software development, virtual reality (VR), and human–computer interaction (HCI). No prior experience with EEG or BCI is required. The topics can be adapted to students’ backgrounds and interests.
